You guys are wimps! I'm in Georgia and it's 20 F. They think the world is going to end.
I'm in Tucker, Georgia and it's 19F outside! I have food and drink, and a REAL fireplace. I've spent a week or more snowed/iced in in this house over the years. Power goes out I can throw my sleeping bag in front of the fireplace.

My Mom was raised on a farm in the middle of nowhere South Georgia in the '30s. No indoor plumbing, or electricity, or even a phone. Water came from a well, outhouse was outside.

I know it's worse up North. That's why I stay here!

I already hate this cold a** weather !!

Went to get into my truck to start it and let the battery charge . Went to unlock the doors using the key fob and found all four doors frozen and won't open @*^$&@*^ !!!

No I didn't wash my truck prior to this extreme cold weather !! But it did rain earlier yesterday evening

Full- on winter here now too in Northern Ontario. 3 hours of snowblower today, shoveled 1000 pounds of snow off my snowmobile trailer roof.

Sometimes it's light... Sometimes it's heavy.

But I've never weighed it. ;)
HA! I've put in enough shovel time that I got bored enough years ago to start counting shovel fulls when cleaning back deck and trailer roofs. Places where I had worries about snow weight. 22 large scoop fulls today, around 50 pounds each. Heavy wet crap.

I'm 800ish klms (500 miles) NW of Gary and we're a little colder but less snowy than Gary. It was -36 Celsius night before last, (about -33F) However, there's a "warming" trend on the way. This year, "winter" has been here since November 3. We rarely if ever get the snowfalls like areas near the great lakes but the snow we do get mostly stays all winter.

The blizzard has me really thinking what’s better? Thunder and hail
Or 5’ deep snow and 75mph winds???? My buds in his Florida home right now, I’m way jealous!! Think we’re over 15’ a snow already this year… good thing we had two melt downs or I’d feel like I’m living in Alaska in igloo

Keep at least TWO cans of fresh Prestone Windshield De-Icer at the ready --- one Outside of vehicles and another Inside each vehicle. A spritz of that around door openings/gaskets will usually help free it of ice-lock. Also, spritz wipers Before attempting to activate them. Having just one can, but it's inside a frozen car, is frustrating --- t-shirt.

Routinely check bottoms of doors' drains --- they can-do clog and hold water --- slowly releasing water and can exacerbate any ice-lock. This check especially helpful for those of us who routinely ride with windows down --- t-shirt.
