I'm looking for an EVAP purge pump for a 2020 Blazer with the 2.0 turbo engine.

GM part number 12735891

Apparently this part is on back order with no date on when it's going to be available..... or at least that's what they are telling me locally.

Your local GM people should also have the capability to check the GM warehouse chain they are attached to and also check the other GM Parts Warehouses in the region, all the way to Pontiac and Lansing, Michigan.

They can also put in an order for "Overnight" VIP order status. If that fails, then they can request GM to contact other national dealers (SPAC Case) to see if any might have one to sell. If that might fail once, the dealer can call and have it run again, if desired.

THEN, they can check local dealers and ACDelco jobbers to check for availability, too. If that might fail, they might be available from a non-GM aftermarket vendor. There ARE some procedures to do this for a warranty repair, too!

They should be able to check the availability status in a matter of minutes, usually. Plus check the GM Parts (Service Parts Assistance Center) online inquiry, too.

I presuming the desired item is available separately, BUT might also be a part of a larger evap emissions canister assy? Is that assy available?

One other thing might be to input that part number into Google (i.e., 12735891 GM) and see what might pop up, as to potential stocking dealers near or far. Then CALL them yourself to see if they really might have the part. If they might, BUY IT and make things happen, also later requesting the installing dealer reimburse you for the part price, incl. shipping and such. There should be some hidden warranty expense reimbursement procedures to get your money repaid to you, I suspect. Might take some red tape, but the possibility should exist.

Through all of these deals, REMAIN respectful toward those you are dealing with. You need THEM as much as they need to ensure THEY retain a customer, by observation.

I AM HOPING that the dealer tech correctly diagnosed the issue to start with! IF the installed item does not fix the issue, not good.

I think you are out of luck Mike. None of my places have it. GM parts have been a huge problem for us lately with backorders. They don't even give ETAs anymore. I've had several units stuck at the dealer for warranty repairs for a month+ due to parts delays. The 2021+ Tahoe brakes were virtually unobtainable for almost a year.

Kind of a related story on back order stuff. My s/o's older brother lives in Hawaii and ordered a new Toyota Tacoma 2 years ago, but somehow never got it, so recently he finally told them to just cancel the order. He got tired of waiting.

The dealer tech flung a vent solenoid and purge solenoid at it to no avail..... I'm the one that diagnosed it as the purge pump itself. That part is bolted to a bracket on the engine and isn't a part of a larger assembly.

Apparently these pumps have been failing like wildfire and the pn I posted is the updated part..... with limited to zero availability. There's also no aftermarket availability and I can't even find anything used.

The problem right now is the CEL is on and it won't pass NYS Inspection like that..... I can't keep the light off long enough to pass, so my friend is driving with an expired sticker.

The parts guy I talked to said these have been unobtanium since about January...... and his suggestion was for her to not drive the vehicle. Yeah.... we're making payments on a driveway ornament!!

Have the dealer parts person check availability for the pre-part number change part number. Might be no better than the one on the car now, but it might at least get the light off long enough to get the sticker.

During an issue with fuel pump modules, our parts manager also started checking for prior part numbers dealers might have in stock. Seems that some had not done the number change on their inventory.

I was poking around with this earlier today, I found a standard ignition number (which I will post tomorrow when I get back to work) which looks very similar to the picture I found of the gm number. The bracket is a little different but I think it can be swapped, same triangular bolt pattern. They had 140 of them available.
