Had a relative argue with me at Christmas one year...he swore that the "DZ 302" that Chevrolet used was built by Ford FOR Chevrolet. I had to stop short of really embarrassing him in front of the entire family.
You guys should see/hear what happens at a bar when you're in a band. All the clowns that will come up telling you how they were in such-and-such big name band, or their father's uncle's brother's niece's stepdad (twice removed) gave them a 57 Strat or P-Bass and they just sold it last week for $15,000 ...... I'm amazed at the morons I've met over the last 30 years.
I had two very similar experiences this week. I drove my old '72 around, and someone brought their kid to see my Silver and black '68 Camaro...and kept insisting I drove my '68 (I have owned several; green, red, and red oxide primer but I'm very certain none were silver and he'd never seen 'em) and another one always knew when I was at work because my brown Nova was parked out front...(it's a '74 Camaro with a '71 nose; front end damage it was a cheap fix)...tried to correct him...and was told I didn't know cars...*sigh* dude, I have the title/registration & insurance even if I'm real dense...
then there was the guy on one of the facebook groups that swore he could tell the difference between a 70 and a 70 1/2 based on the nose.
I had a expert certified mechanic kinda guy once tell me that Chevy never made a 302. That they used Ford 302's in the '67-'69 Z28's. That he should know because he just got done restoring his friends '69 Z28. And we weren't eating chicken wings or drinking beer! NYH1.
...and in Canada, it's called Canadian bacon. Not, Ham. ...and in Canada, no one's head is attached to their jaws. Their heads and jaws flap around independently when the talk. ...and in Canada, a '72 Pinto is a '94 Sunbird. BURRRRRRP!
