Can I put a BBC in a 1979 Z28 with air-conditioning?
small block out, big block in. The tightest spot will be the valve cover to master cylinder clearance.
you can re-use the small block engine mounts. Besides that like I said above.
Tightest spot will be valve covers and header to ac box over number 8.
so there will be no room for tall valve covers! thats what I needed to know there will be a 79 Z28 running around Myrtle Beach with a 496/400/gearvendors in a couple of weeks
You can run tall valve covers, Just might have to modify "hammer action" the corner over #8 cylinder to clear a/c box.. I am running same combo as you, without the GV..
Best of luck...
BTW.. I love that place.. My uncle use to live off of "kings highway" i think it was called. He owned the Budweiser Distribution plant there in MB.
I haven't been there in almost 10 years... Maybe I'll retire there... lol
could u post some pictures when u get it done? I wanna put a BBC in my 79 with A/C
If you are not running large rockers there is no need for large covers.
