    a freind of mine is giving me a 454, he has not got the casting #'s but did give me the 3 letters on the front pad and i cannot seem to find them listed, he said they were TJE . anyone know what this might be? i know the casting numbers would be an easy solution but right now that is all i have

    No such code TJE for a BB in my documents I have. Maybe your friend is giving you a 350.

    i could not find tje either, but it is deff. a big block.i will have to go over and get the numbers, after all he is a mopar guy:rolleyes:

    Get all the #'s off the pad. Chevrolet was notorious at some plants, for using a capital letter I as a 1. Could be reading the I as a T in the date code, and then JE, the application code. There is a 396 with that JE code, and also a 427 with a JE code.

    Something like
    T092IJE, where the capital I (T) should be a 1.
