I think it's a coat of paint. We just got done painting the kitchen, and I'm happy with it. This is where we spend most of our time when we're home. It's kind of big and "L" shaped, so we've been putting it off. The French doors are over 200 years old and from a friend's farm house. Pain to paint and clean, separate panes of "float glass" (wavy and bubbles) between the muttons. I have a customer that does high end plaster and paint, so I asked if he would slum it for a while, and we worked out a barter. I have to put fenders on his Silverado and paint some flares. Wifey and I worked our butts off for 2 weeks. Still a lot of cleaning to do. New switches, plugs and plates. We have new area rugs not down yet. Have to find a new black under cabinet radio and can opener. Any suggestions? 20210131_105956.jpg 20210128_173737.jpg 20210131_105907.jpg 20210131_110011.jpg 20210131_105851.jpg 20210131_105956.jpg 20210128_173737.jpg 20210131_105907.jpg 20210131_110011.jpg 20210131_105851.jpg 20210131_105731.jpg 20210131_110205.jpg

You have a lot of open space. Do think a kitchen table in the middle might work? I see the Booth style breakfast nook. Saves the space. Maybe a small desk under the phone area or more cabinets and a counter underneath. The old school phone with the super stretch cord lol. I still have mine in case the battery dies on the portable. Doors look great. I like the white on the cabinets. I like bright white satin paint all over. But My wife likes browns.

Thank you. Yes we did. They're old metal cabinets, but they're in good shape. Our plan was to replace them when we got there 29 years ago, but that never happened. lol. Took a few walls out to open the place up, added the living room, ran out of money and energy for a good while.

Thanks Bud. I think it's 53' from the back of the house to the front. All pretty much open. Good for playing ball with the Lab in the winter. lol. We kinda like the nook for now. Guess we're just used to it. Gotta recover it again. Yes, an old corded phone. Haha it's the only one that works when the power goes out. I wanted to get a kind of an L shaped desk/dry bar under that phone to go around the corner with a counter top to match the rest of them. Couple bar stools. We like browns too. At one time it was light yellow with white ceilings and trim with brown stuff. It was just time for a change.

I kept my phone for the same reason. Now we have the u-verse set up. If we lose power the phone dies too. We used to have the battery back up but they disconnected it when we had some issue. I have to get a new back up to make it work again. I can picture my kids when little riding their tricycle in a big space like that. Must be fun to play with the Dog inside like that.
