billet hood hinges

    im so tired of fighting my hood who has the billet hinges and do ya love them ????

    old hinges worn out new hinges way to tight hood doesn't close down in the rear all the way without pushing the back of it down

    Ah okay, thought you mean it was hard to open and close, had that problem for a while just to lazy to spray it with lube, smooth as glass now. :D

    have lubed and lubed but these new one will not loosen up so im thinking billet

    Did you try raising the hinge in the front slot in order to lower the rear when it's closed? Not intuitive but it works. There are a few threads on Nasty.

    I have them; the hood seems to open higher (not sure if this is much of an advantage), they do operate smoothly, and look nice...but considering the cost I wouldn't highly recommend them. My body shop insisted that they have more adjustment then the factory hinges, that is why I got them.

    If you have a fiberglass or carbon hood, you'll have to spend some time getting the correct gas shocks (strength). We had to test fit at least 3 sets before we got it right. The manufacturer (Fesler) was very helpful with this, but it was time consuming.

    Mike, that is good. I have heard complaints about some brands where hoods do not open enough on some models.
