Junkies who "raise" kids, beat their significant other and spend quality time locked up are exponentially more likely to have kids who use drugs. When people, teenagers included, aren't happy, drugs can fill that void.

With that said, anyone using drugs knows the risk they take. While it's sad for the family, it's the users own fault. I really don't have sympathy for drug users who die. In this case, she followed in mommy and daddies footsteps.
