So, I'm interested, just what is the ratio of the Borgeson box? The original box on my 70SS is very fast. It is 2.3 turns lock to lock. Is the Borgeson any faster than that?
I will check mine tomorrow Gary. I dont know what it's like compared to yours, but it definitely turns quicker than my 81.

I remember when I bought my 1981 Z-28 and was so impressed with the fast ratio steering. My previous Camaros were Sport coupe and Rally sport. the overall ratio on the 81 Z was 13:1. You would not think 12:1 would make a huge difference, but the members comments I guess says it all. When I take out my 1970 SS 396 L-34 (my original box was upgraded to faster ratio) It is not fast enough for me when manholes covers or broken pavement is coming up to avoid them.

After a few days of driving with the new box in my 81, it is definitely better than the stock box. Much quicker initial turn-in, very nice "feel" to the steering. Not quite apples to apples now though. I have much more caster with the adjustable upper control arms and a type II steering pump.
What is a type 11 pump?

I just installed the Borgeson quick turn steering box and OMG what a difference. With the Hotchkiss sway bar, new rag joint and Flaming River Steering column, my 72 Camaro just became a blast to take on the back roads. Based on my last two c2 and c3 corvette builds with rack and pinions from a C4 corvette, this falls right up there with them. I highly recommend it
Sounds like fun.:) Is the Steering Column tilt? Or can you give me the length of the new column. I'm gonna do a tilt column and I don't want to have to pull the old one out before ordering the part. Thanks,
