Hopefully you were just not running a high zinc oil. Unless you put an additional additive or run diesel oil or special oil (Joe Gibbs) you will suffer metal on metal part failures.
No, this is incorrect.... I have run VR1 only in all of my flat tappet cars and never had a problem
The mopar world has a terrible problem with fuel pump pushrods mushrooming and wearing down, but it is the metallurgy of the newer rods that is not as good as the OEM quality... People have better luck taking one from an old wrecking yard block than the newer ones made......
