Hi,

I'm a french guy and I would buy a Z28 Camaro 1971. I think it's a real Z28 with a LT1 engine.

I send you photos and video of seller. Can you tell me if this car is matching number?

I see the car friday of this week. Can I recognize the true matching engine?

Thanks for your helping.

Best regards.

Sylvain.

The car looks like it was originally an RS Z28 from the factory. I can not tell from the pictures if the engine is the original but I can see it has been modified. Engine smoke is not good.
Can i check engine is the right LT1?

If I'm reading the picture right, the partial VIN is 18S403128. That says the block is a 1978 block from the St. Louis plant (S). St. Louis didn't build Camaros, so the engine block would be from a different car. I can't read the other stamp.

It looks like a turbo 350 transmission. My 71 RS Z28 came with The turbo 400 transmission. Like above mentioned maybe the engine and transmission combo came out of a 1978 vehicle.

Agree trans looks to be a Turbo 350, should be a 400. The rear bumper does not have the Z-28 fangs or visible holes for them. Any pics of the interior? Does it have the floor mounted gas pedal and 150mph speedometer and 8k tach? I can't tell by angle of the pic of the lower control arms to see if it has the aluminum spacers under the bump stops. Nice looking car, good you are doing your research though.
