Afternoon all. I've decided to do the C5 upgrade and am playing with a couple different kits/methods.
One method is the brake kit from customworks. I can get calipers from places like napa/autozone, etc, but will they have the CORVETTE lettering on them? If so, how ugly is it poking out between the spokes?
Next method is CPP. I have heard the horror stories about Chinese junk, customer service etc.
Third method (most expensive) is Wilwood kit. Not a huge fan of advertising for any company but hey, it is what it is.
Basically, the car will be street, spirited driving, maybe a drag now and then. Have Viking coil overs, SCP lowers, and SCP adjustable uppers.
Based on this, can I get thoughts please?

You could always color match the CORVETTE lettering.

If you buy Delco or GM, it will say Corvette on them.

I would bet even the rebuilt will because the cores are originals

Where do you think your modern cars wheels, suspension parts, etc etc...are casted. Mostly China...take a look

I know and agree about made in China, just commenting on what I've seen/read where people complained. Even my Harley has parts that I know were cast/made overseas.. It doesn't mean junk at all.

I have C6 calipers with the corvette logo and it looks pretty good, imo.

The ones with the logo should be PBR, which are made in Australia.

4th gen Camaro's did not have a logo and were PBR.
I have C5 Z06 calipers on my 99 SS and they look fine to me. I would imagine they would look fine on a second gen too.

Front brake calipers from the 05 and 06 GTO's are the same as the C6 calipers in terms of mounting and whatnot. They have GTO stickers on them which are easy to remove. The C6 Corvette calipers are the same deal...they interchange with C5's but don't have "Corvette" cast into them...just stickers. The GTO calipers are cheaper because most people don't know they are the same as C6 calipers.
