California DMV registration 71 issues.

I was talking about independent dmv service sites not aaa. For example I bought a class A motorhome from texas. It needed the vin verified and aaa wouldn’t process motorhome transfers. I found a place that did the vin vin verification and completed the title and registration for $60 and handed me my new plates when done. I was in and out in 20min.

in Indiana go to bmv they will give you info to have a cop come to your vehicle and do stolen check then sign off. then take that to bmv and get your stuff. i paid 5 bucks to have them check,they showed up when i wanted them to also. the only thing was after having the car since 08 with no plates they charged me prior year fee of 32 dollars, plus a standard registration fee. next year plates will be a lot less. all the bmv 's are private ran in Indiana.

Maybe I should call my friend Jay Leno and ask him how he handles the California dmv! Hey, have to keep ones sense of humor when stressed!

At CHP today! Officer was great, he even joked "This car will never make California registration, I'll give you $100 for her!"

Later went to DMV all chp paperwork. Finally after 4 tries got my car registered!! Tags and plates in hand! Be able to sleep well tonight!

That looks like the Garden Grove CHP Office. Tried to have my '57 verified there and they couldn't find the vin (tag was missing eventually had to verify off the frame) but they have it a shot and the officer was a car guy.

No up in San Francisco Bay area, that chp office is in Pacheco/Martinez Ca.
