Camaro Nationals History

Lots of discussion about how long Nastyz28.com has been going to the Camaro Nationals and such. Unfortunately I don't have/ can't find photos from the first few years, and that time frame is a bit fuzzy so I'm not sure if it's right on or not. If you've got anything else to add just post it up, especially if you've got some real history type stuff.

1999 First year at Carlisle
2000 First year Frank and Sue Abbruzzi attended.
2001 First year I drove down and back the same day. Mad Mike was selling Tee shirts for gas $$
2002 First year for "Camp Nasty"
2003 The year without Mad Mike Photos by JB
2004 First year for Fawn. Matt (rs454) wins the club award.
2005 MikeM79 wins the club award
2006 First year for the big tent and banners. Frank Abbruzzi wins the club award
2007 67Lemanster wins the club award
2008 - April81Z28 wins the club award. Club wins the "coolest hangout" award from Carlisle.
2009 ______ wins club award. Camp Nasty dominates the camping area. Friday night dinner at Sunnyside restaurant. Club wins second "coolest hangout" award.
2010 Orange71 wins club award. First year for 5th generation camaros. Live web cam feed from Saturday cook out.
2011 Nationals move to Frederick, MD. Maryland Camaro club takes over hosting duties. Thursday night parade to downtown. RonZz572 voted club favorite.
2012 Addition of air conditioned building to house the Concours and Display cars - and get a break from the 100+ degree heat!

And, the year I missed (2003) - I was sent a bunch of photos which busted me up a lot. I still have the card. What happened in 2003 is why laura WILL NOT MISS going to this event. Even though she has a good time, she will not miss seeing everyone. She is that adamant about going. (and she kinda don't like cars)

Even though she has a good time, she will not miss seeing everyone. She is that adamant about going. (and she kinda don't like cars)

Look close at the two photos. FIrst one there is a full box of site calling cards. In the second one it's almost empty. Waynes son Eric and my son Sam were going around telling anyone they met what had happened and were selling them a card for $1.
