    that's got me wondering if this led to the rear glass being curved from 75 on?

    GM did it to improve the blind spot that everyone complained about. Similar to the way people with '63 split window Vettes complained about poor rearward vision. See what happens.

    that was my point ..... lack of rear glass wasn't really a problem like the vette having a rear window with a post down the middle obstructing your rear view mirrors vision . the rear seat passengers were encapsulated in the back with 0 outside vision . you can see somewhat between the front passenger seats . isn't that the point of the automobile ? Watching the world go by ?

    I agree, those things are pug fugly and completely ruin the flowing roofline. My eye is drawn to those eyesores.
    This is the first I ever even heard of those! And I have been a huge second Gen fan and driver for nearly 20 years!!!

    Opera windows and the Grand Prix style of vinyl roof was very much "in vogue" 40ish years,ago....looked like he** back then and looks worse today, IMHO.
