    It's possible.
A rocker can be loose enough to cause a miss with no noticeable "tick".

Go back and visit your new wires in the dark and watch for lightening bugs under the hood, and see if you need to add some dielectric grease to any of the boots or at the ends at the cap.

HEI or points distributor? I ask because the rubber washer and carbon button are often overlooked on an HEI system.

May want to pay attention to the exhaust, hold a piece of notebood paper up over the end of the exhaust pipe and see if you notice any exhaust pulses going in the wrong direction...if you do notice some sucking back at the tail pipe, you may have an exhaust valve not sealing(rocker too tight) or an exhaust valve could be could be burnt.

Also check compression on that cylinder. If it's way down you've got a rocker adjusted down too far OR mechanical damage of some kind in that cylinder.

I've had engines that had a minor....blip, that I just couldn't get out. I replaced the cap and rotor with "Blue Streak" parts. I think Standard makes them. They have brass inserts and will give just the little bit better conduction. Normal caps and rotors often have aluminum contacts.
