If you are running a mild street motor a Q-JET is always my carb of choice. Set and forget it. They also do ok on gas if you keep your foot out of it.

Stock or a couple bolts ons, a quadrajet will work well.

Anything above, go to a holley style. Avoid edeljunk

I would use the factory carb. I ordered a new 80 4 speed Z28, and no other carb is going to make that gutless LM1 scream down the road.

You are most likely dealing with a 180 hp engine. The carb that is on it, is a 750 cfm. Buy a carb kit or take it to someone that knows how to rebuild them. You can buy a kit, cam intake and a set of headers to pick up some performance, and the Factory carb will work just fine.
