Those cleaner type programs are not worth it. Use the products offered by your OS. Mircrosoft has Defender. and the malicious software download to detect problems. Run them at least once a week. People may laugh, but cleaners install malware and other crap you don't need. If there is a problem detected by Defender you have options to remove or Quarantine. Some may need to go in to safe mode to fix but the info is on the Microsoft web site to help with directions to follow.

So what do I need to do now Gary? I'm/was and avid user.

I read another article that says only the 32 bit programs were compromised. I'm running the 64 bit software. Good to go?

I don't know the exact details about this problem. If only the 32 bit version was affected, you should be OK if the 64 bit one is good. If you are unsure, you could just uninstall it and give it some time for things to shake out.
The main purpose of CC cleaner seems to be to keep clutter out of your Operating System. Unless you install and uninstall a lot of programs, it shouldn't get that cluttered so you probably don't need it.
