Gee so far this week GM has announced Volt batteries will be coming from Korea and engines will be imported from Austria....so much for buy American and save GM....:) :)

UAW workers love to stomp on everyday Americans that drive imports...what will you be driving if you buy a Volt??

Yes the "cells" will be made in Korea, Not the Battery packs get your facts straight first before you start firing away at GM again

The battery packs will be made and assembled at a plant in Michigan (last time I checked that was in the USA right?)

The volt will be made in Michigan(USA still right?)

and a quote from the article "LG Chem CEO Peter Kim said the company may eventually build cells in Michigan and anticipates that the company's U.S. subsidiary, Compact Power Inc., will add to its 100 person work force in Troy, Mich." Gasps more jobs in AMERICA

Stupid GM for trying to create jobs.

Still one more NOT made in America which is the wrong direction IMO.

I still look forward to the release of the Volt though, I hope it's not priced
as high as they are speculating though.....

I still want to know which one it is? I really have not heard.

But why do people rag when GM uses its global resources for perhaps one engine in this case(yes I know they import other stuff) but no one gives a fluff that Toyota Imports 54 percent of thier vehicles and their vehicles that are :"assembled" here sometimes do not have high domestic content

The new equinox and GMC Terrian coming out this spring will not have that engine any longer(thank god), it will have

    **NEW ENGINE** ECOTEC 2.4L VVT with direct-injection: 182 HP/174 lb.-ft. (6T45 6-speed transmission)
    • **NEW ENGINE** 3.0L VVT High-Feature V6 with direct-injection: 255 HP/214 lb.ft. (6T70 6-speed transmission)
