I am not usually the one to make a thread about bad mouthing a company but I am just incredibly frustrated after spending thousands of dollars on these parts.

As it stands right now I bought a torque arm, 3rd member, ford 9" subframe connectors, and a cross member from these people. All core components have been bought directly from chassisworks. On the surface they all seem like really well thought out systems that shouldn't have too many issues with instillation if you're comfortable with a welder.

But my god, every step of the way I have nothing but problems with everything to do with this. At the start of all of this I had to weld in new shock mounts to the rear frame rails, there isn't really anything on the car to measure where these need to go, and looking at the supplied pictures it doesn't even look like a 2nd gen camaro of any year, nor do any of the measurements they gave make sense.

After contacting them I found out all the reference material is for a 1st gen camaro. I eventually got this somewhat resolved, but the new measurements provided still made no sense and we just had to take our best judgment. No big deal, we made it square and everything checks out....but the instructions on their website still haven't been updated so thats concerning.

Thats not my real problem today though, the torque arm itself just straight up doesn't fit in any possible configuration it can be in. The torque arm bolts to 2 parts on the rear end housing, the pinion and a tab welded to the bottom of the housing. These locations can't be wrong or it just won't bolt up. The front of the torque arm bolts to a cross member made specifically for this. That crossmember bolts to subframe connectors specifically for this. Those subframe connectors bolt directly to the front leaf spring mounts of the car.

This location has no variation between all 11 years of this generation ran

the torque arm goes past the bolt location by roughly 3-4 inches, the only way for it to work is if the wheels are right up against the back of the car. Something was made incorrectly here, either the subframe connectors, or the torque arm is too long.

I have a long email chain going for the past 2 weeks giving these people measurements and everything else they request to get to the bottom of this, and the only solution they have for me is for me to cut the torque arm (which I shouldn't have to do) or buy a new part all together and get a weld in cross member for the subframe connectors.....which means I have to buy another thing. What kind of solution is that??

I keep getting told the issue is with the variations of the front subframe of these cars, which is the most nonsense response I could get, the front subframe has nothing to do with this install what so ever, it doesn't get in the way of ANYTHING. On top of that, if I bought their subframe it wouldn't even bolt into their subframe connectors because it would be TOO SHORT. So I firmly believe that the subframe connectors I have are too short, which checks out since the instructions specifically mentioned I have to cut off 3 inches on each side for their welded adapter. I did not have to do this.

I am being fought every step of the way here, I even offered to bring my car directly to them to be looked at to get to the bottom of this, and they want nothing to do with me. They just want me to buy more stuff.

This company is meant to have some of the best quality components for the after market and I'm being waved off like it's no big deal. I feel like I'm the first person to ever install this on our cars, which makes sense being how I can't find anything when I try searching for this online.

If anyone has a 70-73 car I would really appreciate some measurements from you guys just so I can prove I'm not crazy

If someone can get me a measurement from the bolt in the front of the leaf pocket to the end of your subframe I would appreciate it. This is basically the only way I can know if my subframe connectors are too short as I know they wouldn't fit on your car.

Has anyone else bought components from this company and had to deal with customer service?

Sorry to hear, sounds painful. I looked at the website, I'm surprised that there is a system like this that's called a direct fit for '67-'81. Edit, looked a little further, looks like they do separate second gen.

Can you annotate a picture of exactly what dimension you're looking for? I can measure mine.. it's a 71 but probably is the same.

I need a measurement from the circled bolt to the edge of your subframe, this will give me a rough idea how long the subframe connector should be on a 70-73 camaro as I believe mine is too short.

I got roughly 30"
So I was correct, the subframe connectors given to me are too short

Humble apologies.. I went to the wrong bolt.

It's actually about 28.5".

Something told me to double check....

Thank you for the measurements.
Hopefully tomorrow I hear back with good news, ideally they let me drop my car off at their facility and talk with an actual engineer and not a support rep.

Cold comfort for change, but I got Global West subframe connectors and they fit perfectly. I'm so sorry you're having to go through this. Such bull$h!+.
