2002 f150 truck. The clear coat is peeling pretty bad now. IF i choose to paint this do I need to take it down to the primer or just sand down into the base coat then scuff n shoot?
Also can I just shoot back with enamel after a primer? Its just my DD truck...but I would expect a decent job if I'm going to bother doing any of this.

If you have base coat showing with no clear on top and its gone that chaulky sort of look, then its got to be sanded off until you hit primer

I was afraid of that. MOST of the truck is ok...just everything pointing UP.

It's probably peeling off and into the basecoat if it was ever a base/clear job to begin with. Sand it, reprime (tint your primer) paint and clear. If for whatever reason that sounds like too much work then do everything minus the clear and shoot it in a single stage paint.
