Howdy, all! Hope you guys are doing OK, down there!
All good, up here,...dove baby is just starting to fly. Our pastures are rapidly becoming 'sparsely wooded grasslands'! The elms that I transplanted, years ago, are grown to 12 - 15', RM junipers are 3 - 6', and the older trees and shrubs have recovered in the last two years (with no horses on the land). We just picked up our plants, again, this year from West Greeley Soil Conservation and that has kept us very busy planting more shrubs and, this year, we added lots of flowering perennial plants. The weather has been PERFECT for us, and we have not had ANY hail, so far (knock on wood!). I heard that Ft Collins got about 3.5" of rain, Greeley got about 4 - 5",...so we must have received somewhere in that range of moisture. Haven't seen this much in, probably, twenty years,...I hope that Mother Nature doesn't just 'shut off' the water in early June (again), after all of this rain! Fingers crossed!
'Bout time to get out my Camaro, for the year!
Enjoy the spring, while we got it!
Later,...
Mighty nice of Mother Nature to provide my pastures with SO much moisture this spring!
This pasture was bare dirt in 2021. Original tree plantings were in 2019,...
Great start for a sparsely-wooded, grassland pasture!
All have a good week! Drive careful!
Todd.
