Thats when you get creative and think outside the box. You can use some sheet metal and or plastic sheeting from a hobby store to mount your gauges on ,Then there is a clusters from other Chevrolet cars to mount in the console as well .

Will definitely end up fabbing something up if I go with the Dakota digital. I run no conse in my car. And my cb hangs under the radio where people typically put three-gage pods

for those of you who have already done it, what am I up against? I'm tired of my broken stock cluster that I can barely see. Looking at some of the panels i see they appear to not have mounting holes drilled. Are you using the stock mounting points? One of many issues is the factory holes in mine are stripped out.
I did this back in… Probably 2011. It wasn’t too bad and most of the holes lined up…..

I also have used the custom works aluminium dash panel and used Autometer gauges, seemed pretty easy and straight forward, but make sure you get a GM style autometer fuel gauge as I had a ford version which didn’t work

I have an original just has a hole for another gauge. Make me an offer and pay shipping. I'm in Canada

Use the drill bits that make a screw hole with threads
