Hey anybody out there riding on Cooper Cobra tires? My 79' has 235/60's on 15 inch steel Z wheels and I want to go a bit wider keeping the original wheels. Got BF radial TA's and they are ready to be replaced, they handled pretty well when new, but I like the look of the Coopers.
Can anyone give me a heads up on how they handle or suggest another good handling tire?
Could go a little higher, right now I am at 26.4 inches.
(love that tire calculator someone posted here)

I've had the Coopers on a couple of vehicles since I couldn't get the Goodyear or the Dunlop's in that size anymore. I have to say that I am very pleased with the ride and handling and they were a good long lasting tire

got them on my T/A and no complaints. (255/60f 295/50r) they are as good or better than the BFGs.

I had coopers on my 94 and I have them on my 79, they are good, only complaint about them is they make it REALLY easy to spin tires on a rainy day and I don't have a lead foot by any means.....

Coopers last longer but I think the BFGs ride better.

Just put a set of Cobra's on my 81. I wanted the BFgoodrich but couldn't justify the price difference on the T/A's. I'm happy with the Cobra's.

I had a set of Cooper Cobras on my last car, they didn't have too many miles on them when one had a pretty severe tread seperation. I took it back and had it replaced, a week or two later another one had the same thing, huge bubble in the tread, so I replaced that one. Then maybe a month later, yep, same thing on a third tire.

I sold the car soon after so I didn't get to experience any further tire failures, but after that experience I swore off Cooper tires all together.

I've always had good luck with BFG's personally.

I prob. had a dozen sets of T/A's on my car since new. Never a tire problem that I can recall. Will buy em till they quit making them.
