Correct Clutch/Pressure Plate/Clutch fork setup

I'm sure this has been asked before, but I couldn't find it in the archive.

I replaced the powerglide in my 68 Camaro with a Muncie M21, and when I installed the clutchfork and throwout bearing there was no space between them.

I'm have the following items:
11 flywheel
Stock 11 Clutch Plate & Throw-out bearing
Stock 11 Pressure plate (height is 2 7/8 in)
621 Bell housing
Pioneer CF144 Clutch fork

Does anyone know if this is the correct setup?

I know you need a 621 bellhousing I had same problem during same swap turns out chevy made about 9 or more different bellhousing I had a bellhousing out of a 1973 chev pickup I tried too use when I did the swap took me 1 month of research to find out the right one and shocked to find out they used so many!

The 11 inch clutch uses all that you listed ... only concern is do you have the pivot ball maybe too high?

I believe I have a sight air gap between the throw-out bearing and the clutch but I have never checked.

If you push the fork forward to the engine is it almost flush with the back of the bell housing?

Sorry for the delay, I wasn't able to get to my '68 to get the measurements.

The clutch fork pivot ball height is 7/8" from the base of the bell housing where it threads in.

The space between the top of the ball and the face of the bell housing that mounts the the block is 4 7/8".

The one thing I wasn't able to measure was the height of the pressure plate/clutch plate stackup.

Do you know if the newer pressure plates are higher/thicker?

Sorry - I haven't been able to get to my 68 to see. I should be able this weekend and I'll let you know then.

OK - So I learned a valuable lesson - The throw-out bearing goes on top of the retaining spring not between it and the clutch fork(*&^(*^

So that was the missing space!
