Any tips? My house is almost 50 years old. My bathroom redo I've found the paint is cracking in several areas. When I moved in there was wallpaper. I stripped it off. Scarping and washing with soap and water. I then gave it a coat of semigloss. New wife didn't like it an we gave it a coat of killz to help in coverage. Now in several areas it is cracking. I know with cars you have to remove it all. Is it the same with sheetrock? Any tips appreciated. Thanks.

that house being that old ill bet any money that first coat of paint was latex over oil which wont stick.there is a special kiltz just for changing to latex. and going over with 120 grit doesnt hurt either.that layer of kiltz wont help as you had a layer under it.try a razor scraper and take all the paint off and try again.and as stated by someone else the exhaust fan is a must.

Your supposed to use oil based paint over the wall paper residue or that will happen.

Or... Is it only cracking at the sheetrock seams.
You may have a little foundation shift (settling) occuring.
