Yesterday I picked up a crusty 454 and its a 361959 casting. So 73 to 85 454 car or truck.

Then we went to the pad where suffix codes are stamped and found T61520198.

Couldn't find any info about this engine from that. My question is what do I have. We came up with a few suggestions but I want to know what you think. Thanks

Pull the valve cover and see what head casting it has.

If it's after '73... It's pretty much guaranteed to be a truck or RV engine.
Only a couple of GM cars got the 454 in 73 or 74 (Corvette?) and they wouldn't have had that remote power steering reservoir.

The PS reservoir makes me think it was for an RV or something else with limited access to the front of the engine.

Found the suffix code, in a different spot than a small block.

Here is the casting date. Looks like 75. After starting to clean this engine up the block is orange under the blue then black paint.
    Thanks for the interest.
