Made my current battery to look like a Freedom battery from back in the day. This is going over big time on the Trans Am forum's I am on so I thought i would show it here as well. Remove all the stickers from the new battery. cut off top strap Paint lower part white Paint top cap blue. Add raised caps, i double sticky taped mine add freedom battery decals the complete transformation package is being sold for about 100 bucks on the TA forums including, paint, caps and decals through United F Body.com. gets a lot of attention at shows and looks at home in the engine bay. here are some photos.
Need more info. Like what kind of battery did you start with? Does one brand/type/style start out looking more like an original than another> Amps? Group battery size?
i would search united f body.com for threads on these, lots of technical info. on that site regarding the transformation. i just pulled the battery out of my el camino since it was wide enough for the caps to fit on. they sell the decal sets off that site too.
Here's my caps and with a Freedom set up, we recently were invited to the GM Herritage center, I asked when we were there, they said the freedom is correct for the 1978 models, here's my 78 Y88 Trans Am.
Heres the correct Warranty for the Glove box paperwork, I sell these too when I get them, they go fast, heres a pis of my battery mock up too. heres a Freedom II I did for a guy and the Freedom in my 78.
I also use a off white, the battery's are opaque, not white. I have the Freedom that came out of my T/A in 1983. I'm glad I saved it. looks good 77 Camaro, but your battery is on the wrong side Lol
