Need to replace the front nose bumper cover on my 81 Z. Looking for recommendations do I go with urethane or fiberglass. Need info as to what has to be done to it after you received it to get it mounted and painted. Holes drilled, gel coat, flex agent etc. Where you bought yours from, who made it, really need some info. Right now considering OER urethane cover. Thanks in advance. if you like my email: spo49@yahoo.com

I went with a flex-fiber aka flex-glass for my 80 Z. It looks great even after a few years being on the car. No dips or anything like that. I would stay away from the urethane since it will warp in the heat eventually. I wish i could tell you how the install went but my old man installed it and painted the Z as a X-Mas present for me.
I bought mine through Ground Up, but if you look closely the same part is sold through multiple vendors. So go with the vendor you like and that has provided good customer service along with the best price!

This is not accurate. There are plenty of original urethane nosecones that aren’t warped. The re-popped version from New Dawn is excellent. Search this site for a comprehensive review.

Maybe if you live north of the Mason/Dixon line! If its not constantly garaged it will eventually warp. Think about it..its plastic...it gets warm it gets pliable, it will eventually, at some point in the future, will warp, like all plastic that gets heat applied to it for extended periods of time. Like in the summer. This is a fact. Its actually a scientific fact.

How about instead of denigrating me, you just say you know of a high quality urethane nose cone that is better than OEM? Which it seems you don't know of one. To be accurate, you knew of one. It would seem that the company and part you recommend no longer exist. And it turns out the only one reviewing it was you?
So thanks i guess....you really contributed to the thread. /s

Well, someone is feeling a little sensitive today, huh? Do you need a hug?

I’m in Texas. It gets a bit hot here, maybe you’ve heard. Plenty of people, including me, had no serious sagging issues with their urethane covers. Others have had issues with warping, but that could be compounded from issues of abuse, people sitting on the bumper, etc. The great part about urethane is that it is pliable.

Oh, and New Dawn is still selling that same piece. Not sure why you think they don’t exist. And yes, I reviewed it in detail for the benefit of this site and it’s members, which many people appreciated.

But hey, you do you dude. I will be over here, doing me.

Do the edges line up with the fenders? Hows is the Gap between the hood and the cover? Thinking of the same type of cover for mine. My original is ok but has a couple small tears in the bottom. I can fix it but wondered how the Flex glass part fit. Do you have a Pic?

Sure man, i'll take a hug if you're offering. Nothing wrong with a hug. :)

No New Dawn isn't. If so prove it. I'll prove my point for you...
You're old links are all bad. For example your link to Ricks Camaro shows 0 New Dawn items in inventory. Searching Google I found the company exists however they no longer manufacture parts for 2nd Gen Camaros. Now days its nothing older than 2010. So please, pretty please with sugar on top, prove me wrong. If you could have you, already would have, and you haven't.
I'm sure just as many people who appreciated your posts all those years ago would love to have some updated factual information and all that. I'll help.

Lets get down to brass tacks. You continue to make false statements based on a purchase you made years ago.
Lets check New Dawn's website, here it is: https://www.dawn-ent.com/index.php?route=product/search&search=Camaro
Nope, no 2nd Gen stuff. Lets click the link on the page for their sponsored online retailer(s) https://www.sportwing.com/index.php?route=product/search&search=Camaro

Nothing there either...lets take a look at links in your old threads...those should work right? I mean you went and checked before opening your mouth right? https://www.autopartswarehouse.com/...ce=ir&utm_medium=affiliate&utm_campaign=10078

Oh look, nothing in stock...and you knew this.
    Here, http://www.nastyz28.com/threads/new...el-other-urethane-parts-manufacturers.323807/
You were also told 2 weeks ago when this was posted that they only make newer stuff. Yet here you on this post insisting not only that you know what you're talking about, but they really make 2nd Gen parts still. /facepalm
Lets just break this down so the masses can get a lock on this.

In your review, located here http://nastyz28.com/threads/repop-parts-review-0005-urethane-rear-bumper-1978-1981.241073/ you state that these bumpers are available at GroundUp, Ricks and Classic Industries. Well lets check those sites out and see if you're just a blowhard or if you know what your talking about these days.
    Ricks Camaro
    https://www.rickscamaros.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=Bumper&x=0&y=0#close
Oh look they aren't even listed as a mfc on the left hand side where all the mfc's are listed...lets try GroundUp.

    Ground UP
    https://www.ss396.com/category/camaro-bumpers1970-1981.html
Please find the one sold by New Dawn...oh you can't because it doesn't exist

    Classic Industries...
    https://www.classicindustries.com/product/1980/chevrolet/camaro/parts/c15305.html
Ohh again no mention of New Dawn...wonder why....?

So yea bro, i'll do me, you do you, cause you ain't doing poo but wasting people's time.

You seem a tad hostile, so I am just going to field your questions and move on.

I maintain a database of Camaro parts that includes the part numbers, vendors, and prices for thousands of parts for Second Gen Camaros. I've been tracking items since the late 90's.

In the review, I noted that the item being sold by New Dawn Enterprises was listed at Classic Industries as "OER authorized." My guess is that OER has partnered with NDE (which isn't uncommon at all). Or, maybe OER has since acquired NDE or simply bought the tooling. Maybe there is an exclusivity arrangement in effect now.... I dont know and honestly, I don't care as much as you do.

Clearly, in the 6 years since I wrote the review, Rick's and GroundUp no longer sell the part, or it simply isnt in stock. It's interesting to me that GroundUp sells the rear bumper cover (LBC-306) and not the front one.

Oh, by the way .... this isn’t New Dawn Enterprises. It's a different company with a similar name. It's possible there is a connection from some former employees, but no one knows for sure.

Here's some pics of my front end fitment. I'm in the middle of futzing with the brakes so i didn't pull it out to get a dead on front pic. Hope these help.
