    Hello
I have problem with gears alignment with rewerse lights and floor horseshoe shifter.
When Trans is on reverse reverse light don't work(they where lighting between park and reverse)

I have 307 cu with Th 350. but detend plate seems to be from powerglide(foto)

I found build sheet and it says M38 so Th 350 was the factory trans.

Can You tell me the positions of trans pawl rod at detends?
    1- Park - it obvious
2- reverse (only at 2 position od between 2-3?)
    3- Neutral (or 3 and 4)?
    4- still neutral or Drive?
    5 - ?

    Thank You
    Regards
    Peter

Determine where your backup light switch is located. On most of these Second Gen Camaros it is located up on the steering column above the pedals. If you have that kind of backup light switch, it is adjustable. Simply loosen the two screws that hold it to the column and slide it one way or the other in its slotted holes until the lights work correctly. If your car has a different style switch located on the shifter or elsewhere, take a look at it. It is most likely adjustable too.

It seems like the cable adjustment is off.

    To verify...
Disconnect the cable from the transmission bracket.
Start by placing the shifter and the Transmission in low gear, re-install and secure the shifter cable on the bracket.
Disconnect the cable again and place the shifter and Transmission to the next gear up, re-install the shifter cable again. Making sure that the pin doesn't bind.
Repeat this procedure on all the gears.

I have a spare Horseshoe shifter, this one is from a Chevelle but I'm pretty sure that the Camaro will be the same.

I took a photo of it next to the shifter indicator for reference.

As you can see the shifter is currently in Park... (#1) position from your attached picture.
Reverse would be between #2 and #3 from your picture.
Neutral is between #3 and #4
Forward gears would be between #4 and #5.

I hope you got your switch adjusted
There should be a small adjustment available on the shifter for the switch.

The Powerglides, TH350s, and TH400s all have an identical detent plate from the factory.

    Referring to your photo:
For Reverse, the pawl, or crossbar, should be against the bottom of the step at position 2, or very close to it.

Same for Neutral at position 3.

Same for Drive at position 4.

    For a 3 speed trans, 2nd gear is halfway between 4 & 5.

    5 is 1st.

The detent in the transmission of a 3 speed transmission is all that's needed for 2nd gear. In fact, you could actually drive the car without any detent plate installed, due to there being detents in the transmission that are matched to the detent plate, but no one would recommend that. The most important function of the detent plate is to lock the transmission in Park.
