Distance from wheel arch to ground

Would someone know the distance from the top of the rear wheel arch to the ground when a 1970 Z/28 was new? Mine is measuring 25 1/2”. Curious as to how much (if any) sag my leaf springs have.

Maybe something here can help you out.

Go with the rocker panel to ground measurement. BUT results will vary depending how much gas is in the tank no matter where you measure from when comparing another car. I like it level at the rockers and you won’t get the level measurement if you measure from the ground to the fender lip or from the rim edge to the fender lip when comparing front and rear because the front and rear fenders differ.

The chart above appears to be for the Sport Coupe. INn 1970, the Z28 sat higher than the other Camaros. There should be a similar chart somewhere for the Z28.

Right around 26-7/8"" to 27" is correct with F60-15 tires or 235-60-R15s inflated to 35 psi.
Yours is a "low rider" compared to original. This is 27"

Usually it is the front coil springs that sag since their is more weight on the front. When I owned my 1970 SS 396 L-78 numbers matching Camaro (I sold it to Chuck Sharin) the front springs were down about 1-2 inches, I bet they had the EJ coil springs which were 300 PSI instead of all the other BB springs which were 330 PSI.

My '71 Z measures 27 1/2". That's with the leaf springs that came with the car in 1971 when I bought it.
