Satin or Semi-Gloss black on the entire housing and leave the aluminum 3rd member the way it is.

I figured this post was going to be about painting the body.

I don’t like to leave metal bare.
In your climate, aluminum will probably stay pretty decent looking but I would still shoot it with clear.

The axle tubes I would definitely paint black.

I've seen quite a few aluminum intakes that the clear coat turns yellow

I'd consider painting the axle tubes black and then polishing and clearcoating the aluminum parts. Probably with less heat the clear will stay good. Either that or polish the aluminum parts then crawl under with a can of NevrDull for the occasional touchup. I have non-coated American Racing Aluminum wheels on my Monza and that stuff makes them sparkle! Learned about NevrDull from a truck driver (owner operator) that delivered and picked up from the company I worked for. He would dig the can out and go over the rig while our guys unloaded the incoming and loaded the outgoing. Aluminum wheels on tractor and trailer plus other places. By the time our guys were done so was he!

I would not even try to rattle can something like that regardless of brand.....just going to be meh....
If your going thru this much stuff....for a rear end!!!.....have it actually painted. Yeah YOU can do all the prep work (hard stuff) and just have the paint shop shoot it with chassis black or whatever..
The aluminum 3rd member. Again clean, prep, let the paint shop shoot it with clear. The BEST rattle can I've ever seen ...SUCKED in 2 yrs.
