I was browsing through Yahoo news and saw this headline.

I find it sad that a typo like this would make online when there are spell checking programs available on pretty much every electronic platform out there. Cripes, even my smartphone tells me when I'm typing a word it doesn't recognize.

That's a middle school kids report after using a thesaurus for some big words, right? First sentence is missing a , after the third word for Christ sakes.

I make errors constantly using my Android to type. If I do not double check, I end up using the incorrect word quiet frequently in my posts. Then again, I'm not published in a news article.

Heck virtually every book I (one a week) I find a mistake in, usually technical, like H-60 Blackhawks in Vietnam, pilot lights on oil burning home heaters etc.

Yahoo is known for their crappy written articles. Hell most of their articles are click bait, click the link, read half the article then have to click a link that takes you to another site.

Not to mention all those other links that take you to a site to see say "20 of the fastest cars" and you get a page with image 1 of 20, 80 million ad's and you have to click next for image 2 of 20 and more crap tons of ads...etc.

Proofreading is a little "side joke" between my daughter and I. I helped her with her "homework" when she was getting a Masters Degree. It was my job to proofread a lot of her papers, We always point out to one another when we find something, even in church. Tom

People don't read period. Whether it's posts on here or Facebook or an invite, most still respond with a question that was already answered had they just read the damn thing.

Common Core. As long as you can explain why you think it's right then it's right.

Many reporters today flunked the three Rs in school. They don't need to be smart, they have spell check, and it makes them look as dumb as they really are.
