Some people will know the repop label should be a lighter blue, but most won't. Just like that one bolt that should be a lighter shade of zinc.
Do any of us really remember the shade of blue they originally were? And, after 50 years, have the remaining ones faded?
Very true...unless its just some out of whack colored blue, nobody will know. People will be more observant to how close the GM logo to the print is or where the VIN and date are located in reference to the printed material. That stuff does stand out.
From what I see here the date and vin are in a little different location on all of the original tags posted. I will have mine made like my original.
When I was printing the white ones when I started in IT in ‘75, I could adjust the print higher or lower and side to side but I always had a sample print on how it should be in the sample binder of forms. Wish I worked there when the blue forms were used.
That makes it easier.....if everything else is inconsistent, all you have to look for is the"-" or "/" for the date.
Font differs between the 2 plants and in the month yr field LA always used a - between the two and Norwood always used a /.
