Hey there G72, I spoke with you in Oakville at the Camaro Nats in 2015. I've got a bunch of pics of your GORGEOUS car. None of your intake manifold setup though. Can you post a few more closer pics of your cooling hose setup. I'm thinking it would be better than just plugging those.

Hey Steemo, how's it going? you got a good memory for remembering that I was there, it was a good time, but I never did get back, I took up auto crossing then my son decided to try it out...well, that's how it all started, boy did that escalate quickly LOL.

I remember well, It down poured rain on the Sunday, almost a 600km ride home in the rain, still drove 120kph....found out the car's good in the rain, and glad the heater was all hooked up.....that being said,

Jodi's post is the exact thing I'm using. I do this because I'm on the slightly higher side of the CR limits (10.8) with 91 octane and iron heads. What I found compliments this set up is the additional 7/16th hole in between the center bores, high flow water pump, blocked bypass, and a 1:1 ratio water pump pulley. The deck plugs with the holes also helps, but now the HG have this restricted down, but the deck plugs helps me in the top section of the bores anyways, making 540hp with a stock 1968 2 bolt block does pose it's issues, and if you loose ring seal....well what's the point LOL.

That water neck spacer allows you to use a thermostat as well, and your heater system is not affected negatively by this at all.

Hope this info helps you out Steemo.

Rene and Muscl Car are both running with the ports plugged (and their engine specs seem far from stock) so for the sake of simplicity, I think I'll stick with brass plugs. My engine is a 383 stroker (spec'd very similarly to Chevy's 383SP crate offering) with 10:1 compression (so I told the builder to make it anyway) and I don't plan on any track time. I've got a 3 row radiator ready to go and will be using dual electric fans. So seems doubtful I would run into any serious troubles by doing so. I thank you all for your insight as usual. G72 where do you live?? 600 km from Oakville? I grew up in Oakville, but have lived my whole adult life in KW.

You will not have any issues with the plugs in the back, many don't use them actually. I looked, it's actually like 520kms LOL, that's ok, I like to drive and get back there one day if everything get's to open up again.

It's not really a question of global or average temps of why there used.

No, I also have AFR heads, the design is set up for options. I put brass plugs in them.

Hi Rene. Steemo here again. So you're running a Holley 4bbl on top of the Edelbrock Air Gap RPM manifold (like me) What is your hood clearance like? Do you have a raised Cowl Induction type scoop on your hood? From what i can tell on my stock (flat) hood, I'm only going to have about 2.75 inches from the round air cleaner base on the carb to the hood. I was hoping to use a Dual snorkel factory type air cleaner, but I don't think I'll be able to squeeze one in there. What do you use for an air cleaner? And do you have a flat hood or raised scoop?
