Here's a quick pros/cons for each type:
Inline pros: Easy to get to in case of failure, least cost.
cons: has to be mounted low because they need to push gas, not pull it
is noisier, tend to overheat, need a pre-filter
in tank pros: Cooler, return and vent fittings are integrated,
cons: more complicated to plumb, have to drop tank unless you've cut an access,
Probably need a new tank. expensive
Holley all-in-one pros: Use your current tank, use your current feed line, no return
cons: connection to current feed line is not optimal for high pressure,
Have to drop tank unless you've cut access

I said not "optimal", not impossible. Clamps are more likely to fail thanpush lock, NPT or AN connections.

This can be remedied. I used pushlock on my car.
I flared them fore 3/8 brake line fittings, and put on an pushlock adapter from the hydraulic store. Used pushlock hosing and I was done.
I use the stock steel lines.

That's better than using a clamp, for sure. It would have been nice of Holley to provide a fitting for that or nearly anything else. Too bad, because it's a really nice piece other than that.

I’ve had both setups.external pump is loud...didn’t like it.

I now have 4th gen fbody bucket installed in tank. No FPR, one line to front, quiet, no baffling.

Used vetteworks mount-in a custom make recess to clear trunk.

I installed a 4th gen bucket in mine as well ...solved my issue as my first set-up was pump on a stick....with no baffling or bucket, fuel pick-up was hit and MISS...
pros..quite like OEM ...worked fine! used stock tank (I had already made new lines)
con... drop the tank cut a hole.
