Hmmm, I always thought horses helped... dumped and filled pot holes as they past.I've always wondered what road tax the Amish pay. It seems their horses and buggy's do a pretty good job of tearing up the asphalt.

Switzerland could ban electric vehicle use during energy crisis: reports
Swiss officials said this week they could limit electric vehicle use during potential energy crisis this winter, along with sporting events, concerts, and cryptocurrency mining.www.foxbusiness.com
You mean like a lot of us have said was going to happen for years?![]()
I had heard that Tesla was working on a "Quick Change Battery Station" for their cars to solve the problem of long charge times on extended trips. You drive over the "changer" it takes out your depleted battery and inserts a fully charged one in less than 10 min. An enterprising crook could figure a way to yank your battery in less that 10 min also! And a lithium battery pack is probably worth more than a cat. converter. Thieves will figure out how to yank it out in 5 minutes or less.
I saw a station like that over in Shenzhen when I was working there. Shenzhen has gone big on electric vehicles. All the buses and taxis are electric as are all scooters/bikes, except for police motorcycles. They also made it easier to get 'green' vehicles over gas powered ones. You have to apply for a permit to buy a car and if it is a gas vehicle, I was told it can take over 30 days to get permission but an electric or hybrid vehicle you get permission pretty much immediately.I had heard that Tesla was working on a "Quick Change Battery Station" for their cars to solve the problem of long charge times on extended trips. Nothing to see here, move along. High gas prices are due to the Russian invasion...........![]()
White House-linked group backed by George Soros wages behind-the-scenes war on gasoline
A little-known Washington, D.C. group that has advised the Biden administration proposed in a memo to policymakers ways the government could curb the sale of gasoline.www.yahoo.com
"Governing for Impact (GFI), a secretive George Soros-funded group which has advised the Biden administration, issued a memo to policymakers on how to curb gasoline usage."
"The GFI memo argues that the Clean Air Act provides the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) with the authority to control, or even prohibit, the commercial sale of any motor vehicle fuel. The memo, which was assembled with climate group Evergreen Collaborative, also argued the agency could force gas stations to build electric vehicle charging stations on their property."
""The Clean Air Act provides the Environmental Protection Agency with a number of tools to reduce air pollution," the memo states. "One powerful provision is Section 211(c), which authorizes the EPA to 'control or prohibit' the manufacture and sale of any motor vehicle fuel (or fuel additive) if resulting emissions will endanger public health or welfare (or impair emissions control devices).""
""Under this authority, more stringent regulations on vehicle fuels — for example, requiring certain gas stations or national brands to install electric vehicle charging infrastructure — could both reduce deadly air pollution (such as nitrogen oxides and particulate matter) and incentivize the use of zero emissions transportation," it continues."

"The GFI and Evergreen Collaborative memo outlines how the Clean Air Act could ultimately be leveraged to combat emissions produced by internal combustion engine vehicles that are powered by gasoline. The memo argues that extreme measures would be necessary considering the negative impacts of greenhouse gas emissions on public health via climate change."
"The groups conclude that a complete ban on gasoline could be pursued by the EPA under the Clean Air Act, but that they advised against it since the Supreme Court would likely strike it down "despite the clear text of the statute.""

Everything with the government is weaponized these days, everything.Sure, Russians forever, but I thought it was an interesting interpretation of the Clean Air Act that I hadn't heard before ..![]()
