Engine Hoist Recommendation

I need to purchase an engine hoist to put the engine in my 1979 Z28. What do you guys recommend that will possibly clear the nose of the car. We have an O Reillys in town , but the nearest Harbor Freight is 100 miles one way. We also have Orschelins. O Reillys have 2 different ones , but they dont seem to list the boom length. Please HELP !!

why don't you take the nose off? the entire front end of the car comes off and makes putting an engine and trans in a million times easier

Most hoists telescope out far enough. Have you considered renting a hoist?

You can install the engine from the side, over the fender.

You only need to go in from the front of you’re doing an engine/transmission together.

Most hoists have no problem with length from the side.
