    Hi

I read a lot this forum and most of the time I found the answer to my question without posting.

This time I don't find the solution to my problem.

    my camaro is 1973, with 350ci V8 and a TH350 gearbox.

When I break hard the engine stop. the problem occur even if I'm in Neutral.

I've check the carburator floater level, it ok.

I've done some road test with break booster disconnected, and still have the same problem.

A part from that my camaro is running well, start perfectly hot or cold.;etc

    thanks for your help.

Are you saying that if you are sitting still, and push the break hard the engine dies?

    Hi,

Nothing happen when the car is sitting still.

The test I've done in Neutral is in a downhill. Car moving.

Sounds like something to do with fuel delivery since it's when you stop while moving. The fuel must shift somewhere? Something in the tank maybe?

You probably have a vacuum leak at the booster or hose. Check all vacuum lines and also see it your leaking brake fluid at the rubber hoses. Check your fluid level and you will know if your leaking brake fluid.

Appart from that problem, the car is working perfectly, cold start and hot start perfect, no cut off engine, good performance.

I made all the test with break booster vaccum hose disconnected ( and a plug on carburator side) , and still have the problem, so no relation with vaccum line

Check for a vacuum leak around your intake manifold using propane gas.

    Is it a Q-jet carb?

Sometimes those phenolic floats absorb some fuel and don't "float" at the correct height even if the measurement is correct.
(A heavy float allows too much fuel into the bowl before it stops the inlet flow at the needle/seat.)

If the fuel level is too high and it sloshes out of the bowl, under hard braking or downhill stops, it will "flood" the engine and stall.

My suggestion... Change the float and recalibrate the level.
