I'm looking for some pics of how the exhaust hung under the car from the factory. I thought I had taken some of my car, but I seem to have misplaced the file.

I have some pics but need to find them on my computer at home. There are 4 hangers on a dual exhaust car, 2 at the top of the hump above the rear axle for hanging the muffler and 2 farther back on the rear frame rails for hanging the tail pipes. There are no hangers forward of the rear axle.

Chuck, I have a few of Jacks pictures but only what I found on a link in a forum several years ago. You most likely have more or better pics than I do.

Thank you. It does help but it looks like you are missing part of the bracket.

The picture posted above is not correct for an original factory setup. There are no muffler clamps at the top side of the muffler, only on the bottom. The tail pipes are welded to the muffler but it uses a hanger that wraps around the short sections of pipe exiting the muffler at both ends.

Not sure how much these will help you but here's all I could find from my car... somewhere I have more pics from other cars that I still need to find!

I concur with you 70 SS/L78. The pic do help, once I blew them up I can see which way the mounts are bolted up and which way the clap comes out.

Here's some more pics I found in my files that should help you. I believe this info is also in the AIM, that's what I used.
