My Son's 80 Z28 build sheet has those side moldings. His build sheet shows B81, B85, and B89, but no B84. It could be part of the B85 option.

39A0FCC0-5DA7-4E8B-ABA2-E5D0BEBB59C6.jpeg Body side moldings, RPO 84, were not a factory option for 1980 Z28’s. The ones shown by the original poster were installed at the dealership or by the customer. When I ordered my Z, I could order the door edge guards, but not the side moldings. Please see the attached image from a 1980 Camaro showroom poster.

ohh wait i see what your saying. when you were ordering it you could order the edge guards but if you wanted the body side moldings as an option the dealer wouldnt let you order it with the z28 package?

I believe it was a dealer installed item And they would make more money on items like that.

Cory - you are right. GM did not allow door side moldings to be installed at the factory. The moldings on your Z were installed by the dealer or one of the previous owners had them installed by a trim shop.
