I've never used the Gardner exhaust but understand it is nice. I have personally installed two of Joey's systems on my own 1970 Z28s and can attest they both fit flawless.

I have installed Joey's system and many stock and modified systems in the past - I have my own BendPak machine. I can tell you 100% from experience that 1 degree or even 1/2 degree on a bend makes a big difference. It is very hard to fab a system off site and have it fit perfectly. Sometimes due to pipe thickness variations or seam orientation, a bend on the same degree setting, will bend a fraction more or less than the previous pipe. Joey's fit was excellent

I have a gardner exhaust and it fit like a glove. Yes its expensive but when you don't have a lift its worth every penny. Nothing worse than wrestling an exhaust system that doesn't fit while lying on the floor.

Joey’s IMO is louder than factory.
    Here’s my Walker crossflow.

Ditto, I only used a floor jack and stands to put my Gardner system on...piece of cake.

FWIW I used a NOS muffler which has a wider case. The intermediate pipes cannot be inserted in the muffler inlets without the rear axle hanging at its lowest point. All kinds of interference with leaf springs and sway drop links.

I have Joey's tail pipes and over the axle pipes for my 1970 SS 396 L-34, but I also have an NOS muffler (26 inches long) Joey's and Gardner's are excellent systems, but they both have shorter mufflers 24 inches long. I think my NOS muffler will be a problem using the reproduction pipes.
