Great story! I wish I had saved my dad's 71 but my new project is in memory of him and the car I learned to drive in.

Yea, some people do not understand what these cars mean to us. If it was not my dads car I probably would have got rid of it due to the condition of it. But honestly I do not mind all the work just because not many people are able to keep a car that has been in the family since day one. I hope it lives on long after I am gone.

Nice job so far.
Here's a pic of my 78 Z28 I ordered new in 77. I sold my 77 Z28 that I also ordered new and really should have kept the 77. :(
GF 78 Formula beside the Z.

My 77 Z28. Always ordered 4-spds. I ordered A/C in the 77.

Man that 78 Z looked great! my dad was never a fan of the turbine wheels. I thought they looked good for the time period. He almost sold this car a couple times when he stopped driving it back in the 90s. I think he just couldn't quite part with it, especially knowing me and my brother were both into cars...

Those rims were so true, they were unreal. They barely needed balance weights. I wish I had both those damn Z's today. :(
If you make your Dad's Z look too nice, then he may want it back. :) It's LQQK'en good so far.
