I like the front nose I got from Stinger and the ability to work it with fiberglass. It's not perfect, but I can make it damn good. I have an idea to modify the rear bumper, . So...I need to choose one. I see them available from Stinger, Glasstek and VFN. http://www.glasstek.com/results.php?year=1980&make=19&model=88 http://www.vfnfiberglass.com/7081camaro.htm http://www.americansportscar.com/products/chevy-camaro-bumper-1978-1981-rear So, who has what and how do you like it? I'm not worried about a little bit of work since I plan on modifying it anyway. There's a pic of the Stinger one online but not the others. Anyone have pics before and/or after paint?
good to hear your still at it. i have a vfn rear bumper , its nothing special just a light weight fiberglass shell same thickness as a lightweight fiberglass hood. kinda thin. I was also going to modify mine. when i finally get to it im shaving out the liscence plate so its straight across like a 78 firebird, im deleting the sidestraps and molding in studs and somehow i want to extend it downward because i hate how you can see the tailpan and corners of the inside quarterpannels. if i can recall the factory eggcrate didnt fit in the bumper since theres no play or stretching of the bumper..
Yeah that's exactly what I was thinking. Extend it down and basically flush the bottom in a plane with the rear quarters for a good way to mount a side-splitter/diffuser combo. And those side straps on the quarters drive me nuts. I'm gonna leave the license plate area though. That's where I put my NHRA kill switch for the battery. Got any pics of yours?
no pics just looks like a fiberglass bumper. vfn does race stuff so i suppose other brands may be thicker.
