After years of searching, I finally got my hands on an orignal fuel filter bracket for my 72 SS-396. As I'm sure that some of you know, these aren't reproduced, and tough to come by. I had to buy a parts lot to get it, but well worth the effort.. 20180325_155353.jpg

Who knew such a part would be so hard to find years ago? I let a mechanic throw away my air cleaner housing in 1977, spent over 30 years trying to get another.

Just think all that day 2 stuff that got pitched when these cars were new. I bought my '71 LS3 from the original owner and the carb and air cleaner were already gone, but who cared back then, it was a daily driver. Luckily when I painted the car a long time ago, NOS GM parts were still available over the counter and all the trim was replaced. Just didn't think to order a carb, air cleaner, fan shroud, etc. etc.

Nice score Greg! No doubt hose little pieces can be very difficult to find.

Is that only for 72 396?
The 70 L34 shouldnt have one like that? It has the rod that support the filter through engine lift bracket, right?

Yes, the 70 L-34 uses the rod that goes to the engine lift bracket.
