It would be nice to know what kind of oil is in a coil. I know it has a distinctive smell but I can’t put my finger on it.

FYI... The Parts Place coil is close but not 100% which is no surprise from them. It doesn't look like the advertised photos....it's missing the 'dash' between the B and R, as well as the square collars under the nuts. The coil shown their ad is not what you're going to get. I haven't compared it to my 270 B-R coil yet, but I assume it's the correct physical size at least.

Pretty underhanded of them! I’m dealing with them on an issue with a smog bracket and it’s been a comedy of errors. what’s other’s opinion of this place?

I wonder what voltage the aftermarket coil produces compared to the factory 270 coil. I’ll bet it doesn’t meet the original’s. The aftermarket should not compete if they can’t produce the original part no matter what it is. Paying $200 USD for something not right would burn me up.

Exactly! That part isn’t even close to looking correct and definitely doesn’t match the website pic of it. they probably found a cheaper supplier so they could pocket more money and the customer ends up with an inferior product. They probably paid $10 for it.
