I mean...if you get the word out that the local PD encourages lethal force for breaking into homes, I would have to believe that most petty thieves would absolutely think twice before breaking into a random house.

But in reality, the majority...but certainly not all...breaking and entering or home invasions are done by people who know the occupants and are specifically targeting the residence looking for drugs and/or money.

You don't want to get shot, don't break into someone's house. Not any more complicated than that. With violent crime essentially being condoned and encouraged by the powers that be, you have to assume the criminal is intending harm rather than waiting to find out for sure. If you have a family, you're in fact obligated to take pre-emptive action.

Only people who think criminals are entitled to break in and cause harmn would have a problem with that.

But these days, you complain about crime, you get told to shut up and check your privilege.

No worries here!! I can assure you that one will get shot coming into my house. I`ll deal with other matters later. In the deep south.....Louisiana, Tx, Ark, Ok, MS, etc. We have laws that protect homeowners that are protecting their home, auto, family. Plus at my age I have no remorse and am willing to wear orange coveralls and orange flip flops in exchange for protecting my family.

The only warning they get is the sound of a shell being racked in the 12g in the dark. If that doesn’t make them crap their pants and gtfo then my assumption is they mean harm and they then get what they get comin.

Thieves get shot. Survivors get shot again.
I don’t call 911, I call 811. Remember to call before you dig.

The world is certainly different than MY childhood. Now I have to ask a question that I have never found the answer to as I don't really know people ALL over our country. My upbringing was an Army community outside Fort Bragg. There were NONE of these stupid things around our AREA and still aren't in many communities there. Is it the MILITARY thing? (you know...maybe KNOWING that 85% of the homeowners are well trained in SHOOTING and self defense?) Or just the GENERAL AREA thing? Some areas are better than others but I do not have a point of reference.
