Just wanted to double check on this. I replaced the flexplate and had the flexplate bolt kit which included 6 bolts. All 6 go in perfect and got them torqued down. Was just checking on the extra hole there that looks like 7 of these should go in but it's obvious that the bolts I have are too small for this hole. I looked at pics of flexplates and see that this hole is left with nothing in it. Maybe dumb question but is that how it works? I didn't put transmission up yet to check that maybe something goes there but just wanted to double check my work. Thanks in advance for any advice.

The 7th hole is for the dowel pin in the crank shaft.

If you are using an externally balanced flexplate... It locates the balanced (weighted) flexplate in the proper orientation.

I don't think the dowel is needed if it's an internally balanced engine

Thank you very much for that answer. That helps just to make sure it was correctly installed.
