Judge Dredd!
At 0:38, aren't those two fans a bit close to the chest?

That was a CGI dream.
The real thing is still in the prototype stage so it may be a bit more refined when it actually comes to market.

Who will certify these things for safety and any other factors which needs to meet standards… The FAA?

Yes, I know it's CGI. I'm a little deaf, not blind. :) Still, a little bit of a design issue as far as safety.
I would think it's an FAA matter. If they are regulating air space for drones right now, then they'll be all over flying bikes. Then again, by the time it's a reality, who knows what the hell will be going on. War, aliens, pandemic, asteroid. I'm still waiting for flying cars.
EDIT: Truth be told, I thought the video was a mod for Grand Theft Auto.

You gotta have a dream before you can achieve it. But, I can only begin to imagine the issues if those were generally available based on the idiots I see on sport bikes. But if they were a real thing, the Camaro might find competition for a parking spot around here.

My first thought on watching the video was about the down-draft of that thing. When he flew over the flowers I was expecting them to burst into flames. And when they touched down in the desert, where was the clouds of dust ?

Trying to avoid collisions in the horizontal plane is difficult enough. Add in idiots dropping out of the sky (any time, any where) - that sounds like h-e-double hocky sticks.:(

The general public does not possess adequate common sense, coordination or attention span to operate such a vehicle without killing themselves or, more importantly, me.

Should you wear a parachute when you ride this thing? If you have mechanical failure or run out of gas, you are pooched.

Was just thinking this when I read this. At least once a day I see someone humping a gas can down the street. Nevermind the shocking stuff one sees daily in traffic, I don't think we have to worry about a Jetsons lifestyle anytime soon.

Yes, I was thinking it had no glide ratio, no altitude for when things go wrong. Not for populated areas.

But could be a fun racing class?
