found this in heater box help identify??

    found this in my heater box anyone know what it goes to. If I had to guess it must of fell in from dash vent? But if anyone knows let me know thanks

    I don’t recognize it as part of the car.

    A car with heat only will have some parts I might not recognize but I think you’re right… it probably fell down the defrost duct and doesn’t belong to the car.

    looks like an old Cleco fastener used for sheet metal work.

    That is the pin in the steering column that locks the steering wheel from turning. Not sure why or how it would get in your heater box though...lol.

    Someone probably laid it on top of the dash and it rolled down the defrost duct.

    Good work with the mystery part ID.

    I was quite sure it didn't belong to any part of the heat or A/C system but I didn't even think of a steering column part.

    Does the steering column still lock?
    Maybe you have an extra part now! :D

    lol yea it still locks only because someone already changed it out for a newer one thanks for all the help everyone did not know what it was
